Waiting

Just recently, we completed all of our paperwork and mailed it to the Ethiopian government. Now, we are waiting on our referral, which will take somewhere around 7+ more months. The referral will include pictures & historical, medical & developmental information about our daughter. Within 2-3 months after receiving our referral, we will travel to Ethiopia for a week for our court date, and then travel there again for a week about a month later when her visa is ready, to bring her home. When our daughter comes home, she will more than likely be between 4-10 months old. International adoption is sometimes unpredictable, but we estimate that she could come home anywhere in the next 12 months, give or take. It’s going to be a long wait - we really should read Hendrix’s book on PATIENCE for ourselves! So glad that the boys are helping us enjoy this time and distracting us from the long wait!
